Wilbur E. Westen

IOWA CITY - Wilbur E. Westen, 74, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a long illness.

      Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in the Lensing Funeral and Cremation Services in Iowa City with the Rev. Royce Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Memory gardens Mausoleum in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wilbur E. Westen Memorial Fund.

      Mr. Westen was born Feb. 16, 1934, in Washington, the son of George and Georgia (Ballard) Westen. He married Patricia Nelson on June 7, 1959 in Washington. They later divorced. She survives.
