Wilbur 'Web' Louis Ranck

Wilbur "Web" Louis Ranck, 79, of New London, died at 3:54 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The memorial service was at 11 a.m. today at Elliott Chapel in New London, with Pastor Sue Tomlinson officiating. The body has been cremated. A memorial has been established to the New London Rescue Unit.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Leroy and his wife Sandra Ranck of Burlington; two daughters, Geraldine Marie and her husband Paul Dickerson of Townsend, Tenn., and Penny Sue and her husband Terry Smith of Danville; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alvin and Ervin .
