Wiley M. Tilton October 6, 1917 - July 9, 2005

Wiley M. Tilton, 87, of Burlington, died at 2:55 a.m. July 9, 2005, at Danville Care Center.

      The funeral service was at 2 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with the Rev. Richard Latta officiating. Burial was in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.

      Survivors include two daughters, Sue Perry of Burlington, and JoEllen Sutter of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Richard Ring of Mason City; 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Katheryn Tilton and Darlene Breuer, both of LaHarpe, Ill., Margaret Bartlett of Des Moines, and Betty Ingram of Council Bluffs.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; Lorraine Bergstrom, his companion of 13 years; a sister; four brothers; and a granddaughter.
