Willa M. Jamison, 99, of New London, formerly of Cantril, died Monday, Nov. 19, at New London Care Center.
At her request, there will be no visitation. A funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, in Cantril Christian Church, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril. Friends are invited to join the family for lunch at fellowship at the church following the cemetery service.
Memorials to Cantril Christian Church may be brought to the service or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 232, Danville, IA 52623. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, is in charge of the arrangements.
Willa was born Sept. 22, 1908 south of Milton, the daughter of David C. and Katherine Parkins Gilchrist. On May 30, 1936, she married Lester Fisher. They later divorced; on Jan. 23, 1960, she married Ralph Lloyd Jamison.
She grew up in the South Prairie community south of Milton and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1927. She was a farm homemaker and lived her life in the Milton-Cantril area. She was a member of Cantril Christian Church and served many years as treasurer and pianist.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia McLeland of Danville; a stepdaughter, Vivian Rinaberger of Indianola; two stepsons, Robert Jamison of Lawton, Okla., and Harold Jamison of Birmingham; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren and two nephews.
Her brother Otto Gilchrist, two step-daughters and a step-great granddaughter preceded her in death.
