William Anderson

FAIRFIELD ? William Eugene Anderson, 89, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, in Parkview Home in Wayland.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 26, at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 until 11 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the funeral service, with burial of cremains at a later date at Salina Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project or to the Salina Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Anderson was born Jan. 23, 1926, at Fairfield, the son of Carl John and Maude (Krumboltz) Anderson.

He graduated from Fairfield High School and was a member of the Salina Presbyterian Church. He served in the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. He was a disabled veteran. He was a lifetime resident of the Fairfield area, and was a farmer all his life. He loved baseball and fishing.

Surviving are one sister, Dorothy Middlekoop of Batavia; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Merlin, Wilbur, Gerald, and Clarence Anderson; one sister, Marjorie Russell; and several nieces and nephews.
