William B. Kron

      IOWA CITY - William B. Kron Sr., 84, of rural Riverside, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, in Atrium Village in Hills following a lengthy illness.

      Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hills. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery with military rites provided by the Coralville American Legion and assisted by other local military organizations. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today in Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where a parish vigil will be held at 7:15 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to Hills' First Responders or the Tresa Kron Memorial Scholarship Fund.

      Mr. Kron was born Nov. 28, 1922, in rural Washington County, the son of Clare and Elizabeth (Osburg) Kron. He married Evelyna Cole on June 29, 1948, in St. Mary's Church in Iowa City.
