William “Bill” F. Wilson, 85, of Ainsworth, passed from this life on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Parkview Home in Wayland. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth. An open visitation without the family present will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 2 – 5 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. The family asks that you donate to the charity of your choice in memory of Bill.
William Franklin Wilson was born May 23, 1939, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington. He graduated from Ainsworth High School and served his country in the United States Army from 1962 – 1966. On July 12, 1959, he was united in marriage to Mildred Arbogast at the Cottonwood EUB Church. Bill was a plumber all his life, owning and operating Wilson’s Town and Country Plumbing, Inc. in Ainsworth. He was baptized into the United Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Ainsworth Community Church. Bill was a Justice of the Peace in Ainsworth, and was a charter member of the Ainsworth Lion’s Club. Bill loved to bowl and coached the Jr. Bowlers League. He was also an animal lover, especially horses, and he loved to ride. In recent years you could find him playing pool at the YMCA on any given day.
Survivors include his wife Mildred of Ainsworth, two daughters: Mindy Wilson of Crawfordsville and Kelly (Sam) Caltvedt of Wellman, one brother Jim (Marcia) Wilson of Washington, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents, his sister Sue Coffin and foster brother Steve Wood.
