William "Bill" M. Harshbarger, 81, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away at 12:29 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at his home. He was born Aug. 31, 1940, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, to Harold and Ruth Bell Harshbarger. He married Ruth M. Rotter. He was a truck driver most of his life and enjoyed going to auctions and car races. He was a race car driver for 50 years.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth Harshbarger of Fort Madison, Iowa; two daughters, Kim (Shawn) Gallardo of Watsonville, Calif., and Barb (Chris) Wilson of Anamosa, Iowa; stepson, Scott (Amy) Botkin of Noble, Ill.; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Kent (Karen) Harshbarger of Mediapolis, Iowa; and one sister-in-law, Karen Harshbarger of Burlington, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parentsl one brother, Larry Harshbarger; and two brothers in infancy.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, with a memorial service to immediately follow at 11 a.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory.
