William C. Pfeiffer
William Carl "Bill" Pfeiffer, 67, of New London, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Elliott Chapel of New London, where the family will be present from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dot Hasler officiating. His body has been cremated; inurnment will be at Wassonville Cemetery of Wellman.
He was born April 28, 1940 in Danville, the son of Robert and Nelle Martin Pfeiffer. On April 30, 1960, he married Judith Butterbaugh in North Liberty.
He worked at Carswell's Manufacturing in Kansas City for 10 years, then moved to New London where he ran errands for local residents. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, watching wrestling and The Weather Channel.
He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Brenda Klos and her husband John of Montezuma; three sons, Perry Pfeiffer and his wife Brenda of Wellman, Richard Pfeiffer and his wife Cheri of Williamsburg, and Michael Pfeiffer of Wellman; two sisters, Roberta Svuba and her husband Bill of St. Joseph, Mo. and Ruby Pfeiffer and her husband Lester Smith of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Floyd Pfeiffer and his wife Debbie of Windsor, Mo. and Franklin Pfeiffer and his wife Mary of Iowa City; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His parents, son Carl and brothers Thomas and David preceded him in death.
