William Chester Rice

      KEOTA - William Chester Rice, 93, of Keota, formerly of Fairfield, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, at United Church of Faith in Keota. Burial will be in Fairfield Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the church, and will continue until the time of the service. Powell Funeral Home in Keota is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be directed to United Church of Faith or the Wilson Memorial Library.

      Mr. Rice was born on May 30, 1911, in Packwood, to Jose and Kate Staats. On June 14, 1941, he married Reithel Kann in Crown Point, Ind.
