William Clinton 'Bill' Gilbert

OTTUMWA - William Clinton "Bill" Gilbert, 95, of Washington, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

      The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, in the United Presbyterian Home's main dining room with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Memorials may be made to the United Presbyterian Home or the Hospice of Washington County. Reece Funeral home in Ottumwa is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mr. Gilbert was born April 15, 1913 in Detroit, Mich., the son of Frederick and Elizabeth Wainwright (Crane) Gilbert. He married Mary Elizabeth Wheeler on May 29, 1937 in Royal Oak, Mich.
