William E. Dains

      William Eugene Dains, 78, of Donnellson, died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the West Point Care Center.

      Visitation will be held Tuesday at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson. The family will meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

      A graveside memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Cemetery in Keokuk, with Brother Bill Hauser officiating.

      A memorial has been established in his memory.

      William was born March 17, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Sam and Lucile Chandler Dains. On Dec. 21, 1985, he married Marilyn L. Norder.

      William worked on the Farm Service Elevator and was a self-employed truck driver. Following his retirement from truck driving, he and his wife operated MB Ceramics in Donnellson. He enjoyed trucking and his Harley Davidson.

      He is survived by one son, William P. Dains of Donnellson, one stepson, John Martin of and his wife Laura of Donnellson; two daughters, Nina Lange and her husband Bernard of Donnellson and Stephanie of Illinois; and five grandchildren.

      His parents and wife have preceded him in death.
