William Hugh 'Bill' Jones

William Hugh "Bill" Jones, 80, of Washington died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Mercy Hospital at Iowa City following a sudden illness.

      Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Jones-Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Jones will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Washington, with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.       A memorial has been established to First Baptist Church of Washington or Lending Hands.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Peggy Hansen of Plano, Texas, Patty Koch of Chicago and Chris Leichty of Wayland; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Thomas Elmer Jones of Washington, Lester Eugene Jones and John Harold Jones of Crawfordsville and Robert Evan Jones of Wellman.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and two grandchildren.
