William Hugh 'Bill' Jones

      William Hugh "Bill" Jones, 80, of Washington, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at First Baptist Church in Washington, with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Interment with military honors accorded will follow services in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation began at noon today at Jones-Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials have been established for First Baptist Church in Washington and Lending Hands.

      Mr. Jones was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Washington, to Hugh and Bessie (Rees) Jones. On July 1, 1957, he married Phyllis M. Crone in Washington.
