William J. Laughlin

William J. Laughlin, 74, of West Point, died at 2:08 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Point, with the Rev. Apo T. Mpanda officiating. Burial with military rite conducted by West Point American Legion Post No. 668 will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at Link Funeral Home in West Point, with a rosary recited at 3 p.m. and a Christian Vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorials have been established to Marquette Catholic Schools and the Calvary Cemetery driveway fund.

Survivors include a son, Kirk Laughlin of Lincoln, Neb.; a daughter, Lora Lampe of Salem; four grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Blindt of Camanche; and a brother, Jim Laughlin of Moscow.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
