William J. Masson Jr.

      ROCKFORD, Ill. - William J. Masson Jr., 93, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Dekalb, Ill. and Iowa City, Iowa, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 in St. Anne Center, Rockford, after a short illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials will be established at a later date. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, Rockford, is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mr. Masson was born March 20, 1913 in Washington, the son of Dr. W. J. Masson and Dora Montgomery Masson. He married Genevieve Lundvick on Feb. 22, 1941 in Gowrie. She died in 1997.
