William Leroy Piper, 85, of Burlington, died at 3:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 20 at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Burlington, with the Rev. Vicki Engelmann officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19 at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with family present from 4 to 5:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for St. Luke's United Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Piper and Leonard Piper, both of Burlington, and Charles Piper of Wever; two daughters, Janice Moser of Roanoke, Ill., and Joyce Piper of Burlington; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gracie Piper Cossel of Bloomfield; and a brother, Eugene Piper of Arbela, Mo.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
