William O. Broeker July 31, 1941 - December 4, 2003

William O. Broeker, 62, of Leavenworth, Kan. died on Dec. 5, 2003, after an 18-month battle with brain cancer.

      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the First Baptist Church of Leavenworth, Kan. A celebration of his life will continue after the service at the Lincoln room at Mid-American Bank. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapels in Leavenworth. A memorial has been established to the Leavenworth Hospice.

      Survivors include his parents; his wife, Jan Broeker; a son, Bill Broeker Jr.; a daughter, Anna Buffo; two stepdaughters, Abigail Howe and Rebecca Howe Fruechting; a sister, Sharlene; and four grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Broeker.
