William R. 'Bill' Eckhardt

      CEDAR RAPIDS - William R. "Bill" Eckhardt, 56, of Swisher, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a short illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bill Randles of Believers in Grace Fellowship officiating. A private family burial will be held in St. John's Cemetery in Bellevue. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Memorials may be made to the family.

      Mr. Eckhardt was born Aug. 21, 1951, in Iowa City, the son of Charles and Lois (Domine) Eckhardt. He married Jan O'Toole on Dec. 5, 1999, in Cedar Rapids.
