WILMA MCNAIR

Wilma was born on December 9, 1922 in Iowa City to T.J. and Cecil Simons and was the fourth of 11 children. She married Orin Wallace Jr in 1940 and shortly there after, Orin joined the Navy and was stationed in California. In 1945 Wilma and their 2 daughters Barbara and Dixie joined him and stayed there until they divorced in 1960.

In 1963 she met Andrew McNair and after a long courtship, they married and lived in his family home in Glen Ellen until Andy passed away April 13, 1997 and she remained their until her death.

Wilma was survived by her two daughters, Barbara Woodburn, Dixie Hall, 6 grandchildren Stephen (Leslie)Hall, Susan Hall, James Hall, David Hall, Sean Woodburn, Erin (Michele) Woodburn, 7 great-grandchildren Jennifer Hall, Abby Mungle, Angela (Chris) Rodrigues, Victoria Hall, Candice Silveira, Alissa Silveira, Kristi Huckabee, 3 great-great-grandchildren Carson Tallman, Kylie Rodrigues, August Ortiz, 2 brothers Jack (Betty) Simons, Lloyd Simons, and 4 sisters Mickey Chamberlin, Betty Willits, Rita (Herb) Burnap and Roma (Pat Conley) Simons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Andrew, 2 brothers Graydon and Hubert, 2 sisters Constance and Dixie, son-in law Robert Woodburn, 1 grandson Michael Hall and 2 great-grandchildren Daniel and Synthia Trevino. Her oldest daughter, Barbara passed away April 12, 2019.

ACelebration of Life for Wilma and Andy will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday May 25th at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa.
