Wilma Mitchell

Wilma M. Mitchell, 94, of Washington, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, in the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Jason Collier officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Pack 242 and the United Presbyterian Home.

Mitchell was born July 7, 1922, in rural Crawfordsville, the daughter of John and Lula (Sayre) Hauenstein. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School. She married Dale Mitchell on Sept. 28, 1943, in Washington.

The couple resided in rural Crawfordsville until Dale?s death in 1984, at which time she moved to Washington.

Surviving are two children, Mike Mitchell and wife Susan of Oskaloosa, and Linda Swift of San Clemente, California; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Florence Kelly, Margaret Eisele, and Ruth Stevens; and one brother, Bud Hauenstein.
