Wilma Stutzman Roth, 99, of Goshen, Indiana, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at the home of her daughter.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, at East Goshen Mennonite Church with the Rev. Merle Hostetler and Carol Swartzendruber officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Wayland. Memorial contributions may be given to East Goshen Mennonite Church for the Bread of Life Food Pantry. Mrs. Roth was born Nov. 12, 1915, in Milford, Nebraska, the daughter of John I. and Mary (Birky) Stutzman. She married Orie Roth of Wayland on Nov. 25, 1936.
She lived in Wayland all of her married life, where she and her husband farmed and raised their family. She enjoyed being a farmer?s wife and raising their family. Along with her family, she loved to tend her vegetable and flower gardens in the summers, and in the winter months she enjoyed reading and creating many quilts for her family. She also donated a number of quilts at several relief sales. She accepted Christ at age 12, and that decision led her into involvement with many church activities in her lifetime, including teaching Sunday school and Bible school. She was involved with and also served as president of the Women?s Missionary and Service Commission, and many other volunteer opportunities. Her quiet and loving spirit was an inspiration to her children, her grandchildren and the many people she crossed paths with.
Surviving are four children, Dennis Roth and wife Mary of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sheril Mullett and husband Kenneth of Goshen, Indiana, Rebecca Imhoff and husband Ray of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Rosemary Yoder and husband Mahlon of Linn Creek, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Sept. 25, 1999; seven sisters; and one brother.
