Sweet Sixteen contestants are the official hostesses of Midwest Old Threshers Reunion. This year, 21 Sweet Sixteen contestants will take on this role.
Each contestant volunteers throughout the Old Threshers grounds by assisting guests, answering questions, and lending a helping hand to nonprofit organizations’ booths. The girls, who must be 16 years old during the Reunion, are judged on their volunteerism, a presentation along with an interview, knowledge of Old Threshers, and their overall hospitality.
The Sweet Sixteen contestants make their first appearance at the Harvest Parade, Wednesday, Aug. 27 and can be spotted throughout the Reunion weekend at the Carousel, the Paul Anderson Building, and strolling the grounds in the period dress for women of the late 1800s to early 1900s who lived in the Midwest and worked on local farms.
The 2025 Sweet Sixteen and court will be crowned at the end of the Reunion on Monday, Sept. 1 in the Family Tent.
