Auras

I?ve seen auras all my life. Halos, if you will. I didn?t even know that what I was seeing wasn?t normal. I thought everybody could see what I was seeing. It wasn?t until college that I realized I had a ?special gift.?
I was in a class, and there was a guest lecturer. It was a class on Bible Literature. The lecturer was quite animated, bouncing around the room like Peter Pan. Her light was so bright, it was blinding me. In fact, so animated was her aura that, as she bounced around the room, the aura would get left behind, and then have to catch up with her.
No, I was not on drugs, alcohol, medications, or suffering from sleep deprivation. Caffeine, maybe. Nicotine, yes. I smoked then.
So enamored was I by this person?s light that I said to the student next to me, ?Her light sure is bright. Don?t you think?? I got a strange look. It was then I realized that not everyone could see what I was seeing.
I began to casually ask people if they could see a light around such-and-such a person. When I got a resounding, ?No!? I knew that the world as I perceived it might just be a little different than the world other people perceived.
It was sort of like the time, later in life, when I noticed a constant insect-buzzing sound in my ears. I asked some people if they could hear that buzzing. When they asked, ?What buzzing?? I went to an audiologist and was diagnosed with tinnitus. I was informed that there wasn?t much I could do about the buzzing, except maybe drink a little less coffee.
I haven?t slowed down on the coffee, and have adapted to the buzzing.
With the auras, I didn?t go to a shrink (maybe I should have), but I have done some heavy reading on the subject. There are other people out there who see auras. Some say they can use it to see into the subject?s future. I don?t buy into that. Others say the aura is an indication of the subject?s mental and physical health. Bright colors are an indicator of good health or happiness, dark the opposite. I somewhat agree. I have seen a brown cloud around an unhappy or troubled person, and rainbow colors pouring off an excited or happy person.
What good is any of this? Good question. In actuality, there is an aura around everything. Sort of like a force field. I believe that everyone can see these force fields, they just don?t known that they can.
There are reams written about the ?third eye? and all that claptrap. I don?t buy into any of it, although I have read enough about the ?third eye? to suspect it?s hokey.
I do believe there were halos around the heads of Jesus, Mary, and the Saints. People back then could see halos. It is an ability, I believe, we have lost.
Too bad.
I was jogging the other morning with the sun coming up behind me. It was a pretty morning, with the birds singing, the cows grazing, and the calves chasing each other and nursing. My shadow was elongated in front of me. Lo-and-behold, there was a golden aura nicely tucked around my shadow.
Sweet.
