Intersection of Second Avenue and Main Street
To the Editor:
The general norm for Second Avenue is eastbound and westbound traffic stops at Second Avenue; northbound and southbound vehicles have the right of way.
A few exceptions such as Van Buren Street, McCreedy Drive and Polk Street have stop signs on Second Avenue. Why should Second Avenue and Main Street be any different?

I realize there is a bit of a blind spot, but two blocks north on Second Avenue, where Third Street crosses, there is also a blind spot. It?s nearly impossible to see traffic on Second Avenue at this intersection, as well, due to parked vehicles. I have to agree with Jaron Rosien, why are we complicating an easy fix?
Why pay for a traffic engineer when common sense would be more practical? I say just put in stop signs at Main Street and Second Avenue like the rest of the street has.
I don?t believe there are any stop signs on Second Avenue in the north end of town, either (maybe one at 15th Street and then again at 17th Street).
This is just my opinion, but I sometimes feel things can be over-thought.
