To the Editor:
This letter?s purpose is to provide additional details to the community concerning Alvin Miller?s letter appearing in Wednesday?s newspaper.
On May 14, 2012, a letter was mailed to Mr. Miller from me. It stated the following:
?This letter is a follow-up to today?s telephone conversation. As I stated, at its June 11th meeting, the Mid-Prairie School Board will consider your request to acquire the former Central Office building. I am requesting that you furnish the following items prior to the meeting in order to address questions and concerns of individual school board members.
?1) A letter from a house/building mover stating that they will have the building removed from its current site by October 1, 2012.
?2) A letter from the state and national American Legion Commanders indicating that there is no problem from their standpoint in releasing the school district from any liability stemming from the structural and environmental conditions of the building.
?3) A letter from the owner of the lot to which this building is being transported to indicate their permission for the building to be moved and reconstructed on that site.
?4) A letter from the local American Legion Commander stating that the local post will be responsible for the legal costs in securing liability releases and in transferring ownership of the building.?
The letter concluded by inviting Mr. Miller to contact me if he had any questions or concerns. I have not heard from Mr. Miller since this letter was mailed.
All district patrons are welcome to attend any school board meeting to participate in discussion of any issue. School board meetings begin at 7 p.m. and are held in the Mid-Prairie High School Library.
Yours in service,
Mark Schneider,
Superintendent
