Seems like only yesterday (shades of Gerald DeLong) that we moved to West Chester. At that time the community was planning their centennial. This year our small town is 140 and we?ll have a small celebration on the weekend of the All School Reunion and Alumni Banquet, June 1, 2 and 3.
When I read the newspaper I always see ?Shop Locally? advertised and try to do as much as I can. My local is the Mid-Prairie school district, as my children and grandchildren attended school there, and Washington.
My husband is a Shriner, and we attend a lot of parades every summer. That is what I am asking ? ?Attend Locally.? Put your presence in our parade by being in it or watching it. Hopefully the businesses and organizations in West Chester will have a presence as we celebrate its birthday.
After, have a sandwich at our church, watch the tractor pull or be in it. Be in or watch the horseshoe tournament. Hopefully no rain and children can participate in games from 1-3. Sing at Karaoke Friday or dance Saturday. Hopefully our museum will be open. Attend church services; and if you graduated from West Chester or Mid-Prairie West Chester, come to the potluck and visit!
Attend locally! Support West Chester.

P.S. Our parade is at 10, so you could be in it and still go to Ridiculous Day.
