After attending the forum in Kalona Thursday, I began to wonder if people really understand the job of a county supervisor.
There is so much more to running a county than just the subjects of zoning and the Richmond septic system.
We must remember the roads, public health, mental health, sheriff?s department, and communication center as just a few of the additional areas the supervisors must manage. The whole county suffers when we elect single-issue candidates who either don?t care about or don?t understand the other elements of the job.
I believe it is very important to vote for candidates who understand that the job of supervisor is more than just fighting about the two hot topics, and who have the skills needed to do the rest of the job.
Let?s vote for candidates who are good leaders in all aspects of county government on June 5 and keep Washington County moving forward.
Thank you!
