There has been a great deal of press about bullying. No one seems to have guts enough to ask the right question, or address the real reason.
Why does someone bully someone? They believe themselves to be superior to the one they are bullying. Makes no difference whether it?s on the playground, school halls, the computer, or anywhere. The computer is anonymous, not as visible as the playground, and it invites piggy-backers.
They may think they are smarter, better-looking, white instead of black, straight instead of homosexual or gay, or any number of reasons. Makes no difference. The result is the same ? the one who is bullying believes he or she is superior.
Maybe you are smarter ? maybe you are bigger ? maybe you are straight ? maybe you are better-looking ? maybe you are _____________ (fill in the blank).
The question is simple: What did you do to be smarter, bigger, straight, better- looking? What did YOU DO to be superior?
You did not make you. God and Mother Nature did. God and Mother Nature could have made you the one you are bullying. He could have given you less intelligence, made you black, gay, not as pretty, or whatever.
Rather than bully the other person, you should be thanking God and Mother Nature for being blessed. You should first of all ask yourself what you would do if God had made you the person you are bullying ? He could have, and you could be the one on the receiving end.
According to the psychologists, the bully actually is the one who lacks confidence, is insecure, and bullies to make himself feel superior.
If you are bullying, this alone takes 30-plus points off your IQ and certainly detracts from your beauty. In fact, it makes you UGLY, no matter how good-looking you are.
If you did NOT make yourself to be what you think as superior, you have no right to belittle or bully anyone.
What did YOU DO to be who you are?
It is a truly pathetic person who thinks the only way to make their star shine brighter is to extinguish someone else?s star.
Sincerely,
Tom Thomas
