Iowa County schools announce 2023 commencement events

English Valleys
English Valleys’ class night will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16. Baccalaureate will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, and graduation will take place at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21. All events will be held at the competition gym at English Valleys Junior/Senior High School, North English.
The EV class of 2023’s motto is “Be the Change.” Colors are royal blue and white. Flower is a white Gerbera daisy with a blue ribbon.
HLV
HLV’s senior awards night will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, and graduation will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 14, both in the HLV gymnasium.
The HLV class of 2023’s motto is “Chase your dreams, but always know the road that leads you home again” (Tim McGraw). Class colors are red and black; class flower is a white peony and class song is “Half of My Hometown,” by Kelsea Ballerini.
Senior speakers include Kyla Roberts, welcome, and Kyrah Sissel and Shaylee Cooling, speakers.
Iowa Valley
Iowa Valley’s class night will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, May 15, in the high school auditorium. Graduation will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 21, in the high school gym. Speaker will be Gage Kinsler.
The Iowa Valley class of 2023’s motto is “You’ll have that.” Their flower is the book flower; colors are emerald green and silver.
Williamsburg
Williamsburg’s awards night will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, and graduation will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, both in the Williamsburg High School large gym.
The Williamsburg class of 2023’s motto is “It's never too late to become who you want to be. I hope you live a life that you're proud of, and if not, I hope you have the strength to start over. (F. Scott Fitzgerald). Class colors are red and white; class flower is a white rose dipped in gold.
