Oct. 22 5K fun run to honor memory of IV student

A 5K fun run Oct. 22 in Marengo will honor the memory of Iowa Valley student Sam Maas, who died June 27, 2022. The event welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels with proceeds going toward a scholarship to be awarded to a senior in the graduating class of 2023 in Sam’s honor.

Registration is $20 per participant. Runners and walkers may return registration forms and payment to the Iowa Valley High School office, 359 E. Hilton St., Marengo, Iowa 52301 or register online. You must register and pay by Oct. 7 to guarantee a T-shirt.

Payment may be done by Venmo, @OrangePrideBoosters, or cash or check payable to Orange Pride Boosters.

The event will start and end at Iowa Valley High School. Race day registration will begin at 7 a.m. in the high school gymnasium. The race will begin at 8 a.m. It will be timed, but no awards or results will be posted.
