Comfort is God's plan for healing
Pastor Don Brown, First Assembly of God Mt. Pleasant

Parson to Person
Life has a way of breaking us. I’ve been through my share of heartbreaking experiences.
What I’ve found is that when I choose to receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit, I am put back together better than I was before I was broken!
Hosea is an interesting book and story. An impossible point of obedience for Hosea without the help of God.
He is commanded to marry a woman that he knows will break his heart. Let that settle in for a bit!
All this because God is going to make Hosea and his family a living sermon to His people.
God’s people have become so hard hearted that they no longer listen to prophetic messages of warning — hard hearts happen because of pain or pride.
The people of God had resisted the soft compassionate touch of Gods Word and Spirit. They chose instead to be their own “god” and chose to worship idols.
Gods message to His people was” even though you have deeply wounded Me, I still love you and want you back!”
God, their husband, had come to a point though where He had to let them suffer the consequences of their choices and be taken captive by Assyria.
They would be broken but the good news! He would once again offer comfort that would heal them and put them back together better than before!
God the Holy Spirit is the Comforter! Today would you join me in inviting the Holy Spirit to comfort us in our brokenness?
Let us choose the soft compassionate touch of His Word and Spirit so we can be more like Jesus, tenderhearted and compassionate, able to comfort others with the comfort we have received!
