Holy Week events at Brighton Community Church
Apr. 8, 2022 1:00 am
Brighton Community Church (BCC) will host three Holy Week events that are open to the public.
First, on Palm Sunday evening (April 10) at 5:30 p.m., the feature film “Sabina” will be shown on large screen TVs.
Set in Nazi Germany, the movie is based on the true story of how an ambitious, worldly woman became willing to be tortured for Christ that led to the "Voice of The Martyrs" ministry that Sabina and Richard Wurmbrand created for persecuted Christians around the world today.
Then, on Wednesday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m., BCC will host “Christ in the Passover: A Seder.”
This powerful dinner event, led by Jews for Jesus, will help us discover the link between the Jewish feast of Passover and the last supper Jesus shared with His disciples.
Join us for an exploration of the beautiful symbolism of the Jewish ceremonial meal called a seder. We’ll weave the story of the exodus and freedom from slavery together with the messianic hope realized in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
The words “do this in remembrance of me” will take on an even deeper meaning to Christians as we learn the significance of and fully participate in the tradition Jesus observed the night before He died and give us a closer look at the very Jewish life He led.
Jewish or not, religious or not—all are welcome for this unforgettable, thought-provoking experience. (This is only an interactive event and not a full meal. With questions or to RSVP, please contact Pastor Rick at 319-548-0073)
Easter morning celebration begins at 8 a.m. with a gathering over pastries and a devotional, followed by traditional worship at 9 a.m.
All are invited to any and all of these Holy Week events being held at Brighton Community Church at 101 S. Mechanic St.
