Jesus came to give us a new heart

Recently, I have had some friends who have had heart issues. For one it became a life or death occurrence. My friend at one point had come to terms with the possibility that if she didn't make it through the surgery she was ready to go home to be with the Lord.
The heart is the center of all life and existence physically but also spiritually. Is it no wonder that Jesus spoke so much about heart issues? Jesus sets the standard for a healthy spiritual heart by reminding His people that above everything and everyone else the first commandment is” To love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind and all your strength!”(Matt 22:37). Jesus would go on to talk about how the heart is like soil(The parable of the sower Matt 13). What we allow to be planted in our hearts is the harvest we will reap. Jesus would challenge people to examine their words because “from the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks”. Our words reflect how healthy our spiritual heart is. Jesus made it clear by saying in (Math 15:18” But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”) These are the things that reflect a sick and dying heart.
The good news is Jesus came to give each of us a new heart! There was no fixing the broken and sick heart each of us had. (Ez 36: 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.)
Can you imagine someone who is in need of a physical heart transplant arguing with a doctor about their condition and the remedy? Yet people are doing this every day with God.(I did until I couldn't live in denial any longer!)
Our condition: “ All have sinned and come short of the glory of God”(Rom 3:23). “The wages of sin is death”(Rom 6:23). “But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus!” We get a new heart when we accept Jesus and His finished work at calvary!
What do our words and actions reveal about our hearts? Have we come into agreement with Gods Word regarding the condition of our hearts? Have we accepted Gods Son, Jesus, as our Savior for sin? If not, “Today is the day of salvation, now is the acceptable time to receive the grace of God!”
