Question! How hard is it to find salvation through Christ? Romans 10:8 says, “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim.”
Paul is saying the message we share with people is within your mouth and heart.
“Righteousness is attained by faith, not by deeds, and it is available to anyone who will receive it freely from God through Christ.” (Bible study Notes)
“You might say the whole plan of salvation is in two words —Giving; Receiving. God gives—I receive.” (D.L. Moody)
When we receive the message with the faith of a child, it is simple. Adults complicate the message, children receive it with simplicity. Jesus taught to let the little children come, for such is the kingdom of God. He took the children in His arms and embraced them.
If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9).
What is hard about that verse- Confess faith in Jesus Christ; it’s that simple.
When I was a child of nine, my sister shared the story of Jesus at the kitchen table. It was there I asked Jesus into my heart by faith.
A little later at vacation Bible school a teacher asked who wanted to receive Jesus as their Savior, I asked Jesus a second time.
Later as I was attending a Crusade in my home town, I once again went forward when the invitation was given to receive Jesus as I knew a public repentance was needed. It was there I received assurance of my salvation.
“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess Faith and are saved.Romans 10:10”.
“Salvation involves inward belief (with your heart) as well as outward confession (with your mouth).” (Bible study notes)
“When you truly believe what the Bible says about Jesus Christ and decide to follow Him, to let Him be your Master, something miraculously happens.” (Kay Arthur)
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. I received Christ as my Savior in 1969 and have never looked back.
