Parson to Person
Welcome to the Season of Advent. Many might say, no this is the Christmas season and socially it is, but not according to the Christian Calendar.
The Christian Calendar started a new year on Nov. 27 with the first Sunday of Advent.
Advent is a time of preparation and anticipation of the birth of the Christ child.
Christmas starts Dec. 25 and runs for 12 days to Epiphany on Jan. 6. Thus, the 12 days of Christmas.
So we are in Advent, the season of preparation.
Take some time and prepare for the season of Christmas. Don’t put all your energy into finding the perfect gifts, baking cookies, fudge and other tasty treats, and going from party to party.
Be intentional and take some quiet moments, reflect on the past year, and look to see where and how you were Christ’s body in the world.
How did you share Christ’s love and grace this past year? What did you do to make a difference in someone’s life that helped to glorify God?
Plan to do more this coming year. The world needs Christ and you may just be the person to give someone the greatest gift ever.
What can preparations do you need to make that the world may see Christ through you?
Be bold, be strong.
