There’s Joy In Giving

A generous man will prosper; He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. --- — Proverbs 11:25

There is an amazing joy that comes with giving to the Lord — giving of thanks, praise, honor, worship, adoration and glory. Each day we need express appreciation to the Lord for the successes He grants us- which are all about Him and not about us. We truly can give God all the credit and glory for the things He has done.

There’s also a rush of joy in giving to others. The holiday season is here … and so come the plans for giving! Giving of gifts, cards, family pictures, compliments … even bonuses at work!

The ultimate example of love is found in John 3:16. Jesus said, “God so loved the world that He gave …” He gave the greatest gift of all, His Son, Jesus Christ.

God showed us how to love by giving. His intention was to benefit all of mankind forever. Not only did He give Jesus, but He always lavishes us with His love, forgiveness, salvation, freedom, healing, provision, wisdom, and eternal life, His Spirit, His Word and much more.

The beauty of giving is that it blesses and refreshes others. When we witness the smile on someone else’s face, whether it is family, friend or stranger, we are also enriched and blessed by the thrill of giving.

This Thanksgiving and Christmas season, enjoy the beauty of giving and be refreshed, not stressed.
