Sabrina Reneker is a Pekin senior in the spotlight this week. She is the daughter of Scott and Terri Reneker. She has a sister, Lilly.
While in school, she has been involved in Cross Country, Basketball, Track, Softball, Dance Team, Chorus, Band, Color Guard, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and National Honor Society. She has also worked at Pekin’s Child Care, and babysitting and pet sitting.
What’s your favorite school memory or what will you remember the most? My favorite school memories include participating in State Cross Country and State Track.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? I would have started taking college classes during my freshman year.
Finish this sentence: “I could not live without …” the support of my family.
What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? The best thing about being a senior is getting to look back at all my high school memories and knowing that I’m prepared for college.
Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Davis Eidahl has had the biggest impact on me because he has been my coach for Cross Country, Basketball, and Track. He was also my classroom teacher. He has always pushed me and supported me.
What advice do you have for incoming high school freshmen? Get involved in as many activities and clubs as you can, you won’t regret it.
What are your plans after graduation? I plan to attend Indian Hills for their Radiologic Technology Program and enter the health care field while taking classes to specialize in CTs, MRIs, and ultrasound.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? I would love to be able to pet and hold wild animals, like sea lions.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I visited Switzerland a few years ago and fell in love. I wouldn't actually want to live there, but I would definitely like an extended visit.
Who has been your biggest influence in your life and why? I have been most influenced by my family. My dad, mom, sister, and grandparents have always been there for me as role models and encouraged me to be the best person I can be.
