2023 Pekin senior Tayler McCreedy

Tayler Seirra McCreedy is a 2023 Pekin graduate. She is the daughter of Todd and Theresa McCreedy, and sister to Tessany Haynes and Tanner McCreedy.

While in school Tayler was involved in Dance Team, Basketball, Basketball Manager, Cross Country Manager, Nation Honor Society, Choir, Band, Drama, Iron Chef, Yearbook, and FCA. She has also worked at the Ottumwa 8 Movie Theater, Packwood Locker and Meats, and Custom Cuts.

What’s your favorite school memory or what will you remember the most? My favorite memory would probably be the basketball games and just having fun yelling the chants and watching the games with my friends. I especially love doing mine and my dad's handshake after each game.

If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? If I could go back and change one thing, it would be to definitely get out of my comfort zone more and talk to people!

What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? The best thing about being a senior is getting closer to people you never thought you would. The worst thing though would probably be having a lot of stress about getting everything figured out and planning everything.

Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why?

I would have to say either Wittrock or Bates! Both of them have pushed me to be a better person and they are always there to talk to and laugh with. They both have impacted my life for the better!

What advice do you have for incoming high school freshmen? Take high school in, and make each and every moment last because one day you'll be walking across that stage and never coming back.

What are your plans after graduation? I plan on attending Grand View in the Fall of 2023 and majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Theology.

What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? I want to travel the world and visit all the places that I haven't been to, also go sky diving, and ride all the craziest rollercoasters in the world!

If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I would love to go to Greece because it is so beautiful there and I would just love to explore it.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why? The biggest influence in my life has been my brother. He has pushed me to do my best in everything and I have looked up to him my entire life because he's been there for me. As well as my sister.
