2025 Keokuk County 4-H Awards Night

On Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, the Keokuk County 4-H Awards Night was held at the Expo Fair Grounds in Sigourney. The award ceremony was hosted by the Keokuk County 4-H County Youth Council.
Canned Good Community Service Project
The Keokuk County 4-H hosted a canned good drive during awards night. We want to thank everyone that brought canned goods for our community service project. We were able to collect over 175 canned goods. These canned goods will be going to shelters in the area to assist with any needs they have.

Special 4-H Volunteer Awards
Family of 4-H Award: The 2024-2025 Family of 4-H Award was presented to the Brys and Mallary Snakenberg Family.
Friend of 4-H Award: The 2024-2025 Friend of 4-H Award was presented to the Pat and Cindy Snakenberg.
Partner in 4-H Award: The 2024-2025 Partner in 4-H Award was presented to Exceptional Edge.
4-H Leader of the Year: The 2024-2025 4-H Leader of the Year Award was presented to Meg Cason.
4-H Superintendent of the Year: The 2024-2025 4-H Superintendent of the Year Award was presented to Brian Kitzman.
2025 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame — Keokuk County Award: Jody Morrison was recognized at the Iowa State Fair as Keokuk County’s 2025 inductee into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame! Jody has been a dedicated supporter of the Keokuk County 4-H program for many years — serving as the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club leader for 20 years (1992—2012) and continuing to share her time and talents as the Clothing Event Superintendent since 2008. Thank you, Jody, for your years of commitment and service to Keokuk County 4-H!
Recipients of the Special 4-H Volunteer Awards all received an Award Brick. Each brick will have the recipient’s name and award received engraved on it and will be placed in the brick patio out front of the Extension Office.
4-H Club Awards
Club Communications Awards were sponsored by Keokuk County Farm Bureau. Nathan Fritchen of the Keokuk County Farm Bureau presented awards to the top clubs for communications involvement. This year’s recipients were: 1st place to the Stick-To-It Club; 2nd place to the Lafayette Feeders Club; 3rd place tie between the Riverside and Patriotic Panthers Club

4-H members who are presented with the following awards must apply or be nominated for them. Their efforts are evaluated by the Keokuk County Extension Council. This year’s award winners are:

Herdsmanship awards highlight the 4-H members that showed outstanding care for their animals and pride in the barn during the 2025 Expo Fair. An anonymous selection committee helped select this year’s winners. This year’s award winners are:
