Nov. 17, 2022 3:13 pm
CRAWFORDSVILLE — Each season presents its own challenges, and the Crawfordsville Ag Chemical Dealer Update will help attendees prepare for the 2023 growing season. Join Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialists on Dec. 14 at a new location near Crawfordsville to get the latest in current research, new pests, and management recommendations.
“This meeting is intended to keep ag retailers informed on new research and management considerations pertaining to diseases, insects, weeds, and crop nutrition,” said Rebecca Vittetoe, field agronomist with ISU Extension and Outreach.
The Crawfordsville Ag Chemical Dealer Update qualifies for Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) continuing education credits (0.5 soil and water management, 1.0 nutrient management, and 4.0 pest management, which include the optional applicator training session) and provides recertification for calendar year 2022 for Commercial Pesticide Applicators in categories 1A, 1B, 1C.
“Ag retailers and farmers can hear new, research-based information and complete their commercial pesticide applicator recertification in a hands-on and interactive session,” said Vittetoe. “Similar to last year, we’ll include two workshop sessions designed to be practical and fun.”
Topics for 2022 include a review of the growing season, new soil fertility recommendations, and two hands-on sessions participants will rotate through. The hands-on sessions will feature activities related to evaluating management considerations for foliar disease and herbicide application, handling, and safety.
Early registration is $70 if received by midnight, Dec. 7. Late or on-site registration is $85. A similar meeting will take place in Nevada on Dec 13. Visit www.aep.iastate.edu/acu for more program details and to register online.
