Area Food Pantry Information
The area food pantry is located in the Richland Methodist Church in Richland. Anyone living in the Pekin School district has access to this resource. For anyone needing help go to the Fellowship Hall door that is located on Richland St. on the west side of the church. Food pantry hours of operation are Tues. and Wed. 9-11 a.m. and Thur. 6-8 p.m. Office phone 319-456-2251, emergency contact 319-750-2631. This is a Partner Agency with the Food Bank of Iowa.
Keokuk County Historical Society
The Keokuk County Historical Society is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Arrangements for visiting other days can be arranged by calling 641-622-3005, please leave a message and a volunteer will return your call. Come see our museum or do genealogy research.
“Read, Renew, Repeat” at the Richland Public Library this Summer
Registration will open Tuesday, May 28 for the Richland Public Library’s summer programs. This year’s program, “Read, Renew, Repeat” will run from June 4 through July 30 and will include activities for the entire family. Children’s Eco-Adventurer’s program will be on Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m. and is geared toward children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. The Eco-Tots program geared toward children 2 to 5 years old will be on Wednesdays from 3-3:30 p.m. (please register by May 31 for this program as class size will be limited). Eco-Adventurer’s at the Richland Public Library, Tuesdays beginning June 4
Join Gabi Kates and Melody Rehm for stories, games and activities. This program is geared toward students entering kindergarten-fifth grade and will be held Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m. For more information contact the library at 319-456-6541.
Eco-Tots at the Richland Public Library, Wednesdays beginning June 5
This program will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 3-3:30 p.m. and is geared toward children ages two to five years old. Please preregister at the library as class size is limited at 319-456-6541.
Lego & Games at the Richland Public Library, Thursdays
All ages can drop in at the Richland Library for fun and games on Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. We’ll have Lego and Duplo blocks, Magna-Tiles, board games, puzzles and more! For more information contact the library at 319-456-6541.

Richland’s Memorial Day Service will be held Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. on the Richland square. This event is sponsored by the American Legion Post #504 and the Richland Community Club.

Richland’s Frogtown Fun Run will be Saturday, July 6. This 1 mile and 5k run/walk will begin at 8 a.m. Preregistration is open until June 15 (included T-shirt) for $25. Registration after June 15 (no T-shirt) is $10. Checks payable to Richland Community Club, drop off at Hinshaw Trailer Sales or mail to PO Box 33, Richland, IA 52585.
