Area Food Pantry Information
The area food pantry is located in the Richland Methodist Church in Richland. Anyone living in the Pekin School district has access to this resource. For anyone needing help go to the Fellowship Hall door that is located on Richland St. on the west side of the church. Food pantry hours of operation are Tues. and Wed. 9-11 a.m. and Thur. 6-8 p.m. Office phone 319-456-2251, emergency contact 319-750-2631. This is a Partner Agency with the Food Bank of Iowa.
Keokuk County Historical Society
The Keokuk County Historical Society is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Arrangements for visiting other days can be arranged by calling 641-622-3005, please leave a message and a volunteer will return your call. Come see our museum or do genealogy research.
Richland Public Library’s Picnic in Central Park, Friday July 19
Come join the Richland Public Library for a picnic in the park on Friday, July 19 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. This family event will meet at the library before heading to the park. Brighton Community VBS, Monday, July 22 — Friday, July 26
The Community VBS for the Brighton area will be Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26, from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Brighton Church of God, 403 S. Mechanic Street, Brighton. This is for ages four years to just finished sixth grade. All must be potty trained to attend. Light meal will be served each night. SCUBA is the program for this year — Dive on in to a friendship with God. Questions call 319-694-3003.

“Read, Renew, Repeat” at the Richland Public Library this Summer
Registration is open for the Richland Public Library’s summer programs. This year’s program, “Read, Renew, Repeat” will run from June 4 through July 30 and will include activities for the entire family. Children’s Eco-Adventurer’s program will be on Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m. and is geared toward children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. The Eco-Tots program geared toward children 2 to 5 years old will be on Wednesdays from 3-3:30 p.m. (please register by May 31 for this program as class size will be limited). Eco-Adventurer’s at the Richland Public Library, Tuesdays
Join Gabi Kates and Melody Rehm for stories, games and activities. This program is geared toward students entering kindergarten-fifth grade and will be held Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m. For more information contact the library at 319-456-6541.
