Area Food Pantry Information
The area food pantry is located in the Richland Methodist Church in Richland. For anyone needing help go to the Fellowship Hall door that is located on Richland St. on the west side of the church. Food pantry hours of operation are Tues. and Wed. 9:30-11:30 a.m. and Thur. 5-7 p.m. Office phone 319-456-2251, emergency contact 641-919-5573. This is a Partner Agency with the Food Bank of Iowa.
Keokuk County Historical Society
The Keokuk County Historical Society is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will be closed the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. Arrangements for visiting other days can be arranged by calling 641-622-3005, please leave a message and a volunteer will return your call. Come see our museum or do genealogy research.
Richland Women’s Bake Sale, Saturday, Dec. 14
The Richland Women’s Club will be holding a bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Country Junction restaurant beginning at 11 a.m. Money raised will go to Pekin Scholarships and the Pekin Ministerial Association.
Christmas Hymn Sing, Richland Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Sunday, Dec. 15
Everyone is invited to the Christmas Hymn Sing at the Richland Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 5 p.m. A light meal will be served.
Pekin After Prom Ongoing Can and Bottle Drive
Refundable cans and plastic bottles can be dropped off at Greiner Real Estate and Auction in Richland, Copeland Auto Body in Hedrick, or the Fire Station in Packwood. This fundraiser is for Pekin After Prom and the can drops will be at these locations through spring, 2025.
Richland Public Library’s Kids Club, Tuesdays
Children in kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to join in at Kids Club at the Richland Public Library on Tuesday afternoons from 4 — 5 p.m. Come have a snack, along with a story, followed by special weekly events including arts & crafts, games, STEM projects and more. Preschool-aged children may attend with an adult caregiver. Kids Club will be canceled if school is canceled or dismissed early due to inclement weather. Richland Public Library’s Tiny Tots Playgroup, Wednesdays
Children, ages 1-4 years old, and their caregivers, are invited to join the Richland Library’s Tiny Tots Playgroup on Wednesdays from 3:15 — 3:45 p.m. We'll start with songs and games in a structured story-time setting followed by an open playtime. Super Kids Good News Club, Wednesdays after school @ Trinity Friends Church in Richland
Super Kids Good News Club meets every Wednesday at Trinity Friends Church in Richland through the school year from 3:45 — 5 p.m. We will only meet on full days of school and all children K-5th grade are welcome (parents too!) This is a fun-filled weekly club for kids in which the Bible is clearly taught with songs, lessons, games, and crafts.
