Area Food Pantry Information
The area food pantry is located in the Richland United Methodist Church in Richland. Anyone living in the Pekin School district has access to this resource. For anyone needing help go to the Fellowship Hall door that is located on Richland St. on the west side of the church. Food pantry hours of operation are Tues. and Wed. 9-11 a.m. and Thur. 6-8 p.m. Office phone 319-456-2251, emergency contact 319-750-2631. This is a Partner Agency with the Food Bank of Iowa.
Keokuk County Historical Society
The Keokuk County Historical Society is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Arrangements for visiting other days can be arranged by calling 641-622-3005, please leave a message and a volunteer will return your call. Come see our museum or do genealogy research.
Richland Public Library's Kids Club, Tuesdays.
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to join us at the Richland Library for snacks, stories, crafts and games on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m.
Richland Public Library's Tiny Tots, Wednesdays
Toddlers and their caregivers are invited to join us at the library for songs, circle activities and play on Wednesdays from 3:15-3:40 p.m. Class size is limited, please register in advance at the library.
Teen-Time at the Richland Public Library, Thursdays
Students in 6th grade and up are invited to join us for snacks, games and time to hang out with friends on Thursdays from 4-5 p.m.
Haunted Woods Treat Walk, Saturday, October 28
Skunk River Lodge Campgrounds, Brighton, will be hosting a Haunted Woods Treat Walk on Saturday, October 28 from 4-7 p.m. Kids 1-14 bring your decorated pumpkins for judging, be there by 5:00. Serving hot dogs, hot chocolate, apple cider. Looking for volunteers to dress up, decorate a Haunted Spot, or help hand out candy to trick or treaters. Richland Fire Dept. Soup Supper, Saturday, October 28, and Tuesday, October 31
The Richland Fire Dept. will be holding a Soup Supper Saturday, October 28, during Trunk or Treating, and Tuesday, October 31, during Trick or Treating. Both nights are from 5-8 p.m. Dine in or carry out. Free will offering. Chili, Cheeseburger Soup, and Chicken Noodle Soup.

Pekin FFA and Richland Community Club will be hosting Trunk or Treat on the Richland square Saturday, October 28 from 5-7 p.m. Come enjoy Trunk or Treating, games for kids, and free food in the shelter.

The City of Ollie Trick or Treat night will be Saturday, October 28 from 6-8 p.m.
Halloween at the Richland Library, Tuesday, October 31
Children kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to the Richland Public Library Halloween Party on Tuesday, October 31 from 4-5 p.m. Be sure wear your costume for the parade! There will be a light meal along with games and prizes. Registration is required by Saturday, October 28. Younger children may attend with a caregiver. The City of Richland Trick or Treat night will be Tuesday, October 31 from 5-8 p.m.
Hedrick Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat, Tuesday, October 31
The City of Hedrick Trick or Treat night will be Tuesday, October 31. Hot dogs will be served from 5-6 p.m. at the Community Center, the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. at the fire station and end at the Community Center. Trick or Treating will be from 6-8 p.m.
Packwood Trick or Treat and Meal, Tuesday, October 31
The City of Packwood will be hosting a meal at the Community Center from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31. Enjoy Spooky Dogs, chips, oogie boogie dirt cups, vampire juice, and candy bags See the firetruck! Guess the correct number of spooky eyeballs and win a prize! Trick or Treating will be from 6-8 p.m.
Brighton Trick or Treat and Meal, Tuesday, October 31
Tommy’s Helping Hands, Junk Yard Dogs, and Brighton Chamber of Commerce invite kids to a free hot dog and chips meal in Brighton’s Central Park from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31. Trick or Treating will be from 5-7 p.m.
Brighton Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Thursday, November 23
The City of Brighton, JYD, Tommy’s Helping Hand, and the churches of the Brighton Ministerial Association invite everyone to a free traditional Thanksgiving Dinner in the Brighton city Hall on Thursday, November 23. Doors open at 10:45 a.m., serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dine in or take out. Call to make reservations at 815-441-1512. Free will donations welcomed.

Hedrick Veterans Museum Hours
