Area Food Pantry Information
The area food pantry is located in the Richland United Methodist Church in Richland. Anyone living in the Pekin School district has access to this resource. For anyone needing help go to the Fellowship Hall door that is located on Richland St. on the west side of the church. Food pantry hours of operation are Tues. and Wed. 9-11 a.m. and Thur. 6-8 p.m. Office phone 319-456-2251, emergency contact 319-750-2631. This is a Partner Agency with the Food Bank of Iowa.
Keokuk County Historical Society
The Keokuk County Historical Society is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Arrangements for visiting other days can be arranged by calling 641-622-3005, please leave a message and a volunteer will return your call. Come see our museum or do genealogy research.
Richland Public Library's Kids Club, Tuesdays.
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to join us at the Richland Library for snacks, stories, crafts and games on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m.
Richland Public Library's Tiny Tots, Wednesdays
Toddlers and their caregivers are invited to join us at the library for songs, circle activities and play on Wednesdays from 3:15-3:40 p.m. Class size is limited, please register in advance at the library.
Teen-Time at the Richland Public Library, Thursdays
Students in 6th grade and up are invited to join us for snacks, games and time to hang out with friends on Thursdays from 4-5 p.m.

Flags in Richland Park, Thursday, November 9
The flags will be put up around Richland’s Central Park on Thursday, November 9 at 4 p.m. for the Veterans Day weekend. Volunteers may come at 4 p.m. to assist putting them up.
Pekin Veterans Program, Friday, November 10
Everyone is invited to the Veterans Program at Pekin on Friday, November 10. Dan Maeder will be the guest speaker. Coffee and refreshments will be at 8 a.m., with the program beginning at 9 in the high school gym.
Veterans Appreciation Supper, Saturday, November 11
The Keokuk County Veterans Affairs office and Commissioners are serving a Veterans Appreciation Supper on Saturday, November 11 at the Keokuk County Expo at 5 p.m. Veterans and a guest are invited to enjoy a delicious meal. No RSVP needed.

Brighton Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Thursday, November 23
The City of Brighton, JYD, Tommy’s Helping Hand, and the churches of the Brighton Ministerial Association invite everyone to a free traditional Thanksgiving Dinner in the Brighton city Hall on Thursday, November 23. Doors open at 10:45 a.m., serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dine in or take out. Call to make reservations at 815-441-1512. Free will donations welcomed.
