Area Food Pantry Information
The area food pantry is located in the Richland Methodist Church in Richland. Anyone living in the Pekin School district has access to this resource. For anyone needing help go to the Fellowship Hall door that is located on Richland St. on the west side of the church. Food pantry hours of operation are Tues. and Wed. 9-11 a.m. and Thur. 6-8 p.m. Office phone 319-456-2251, emergency contact 319-750-2631. This is a Partner Agency with the Food Bank of Iowa.
Keokuk County Historical Society
The Keokuk County Historical Society is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Arrangements for visiting other days can be arranged by calling 641-622-3005, please leave a message and a volunteer will return your call. Come see our museum or do genealogy research.
Winter Bingo at Carl Craft Civic Center in Hedrick
Bingo is being played at the Carl Craft Civic Center in Hedrick on the following remaining Saturdays: March 9, March 30, April 6, and April 20. Games start at 6 p.m. with 21 rounds of Bingo being played. Rounds 1-9 and 11-20 will be $.50 per card or 3 for $1. 50% of pot payout per game. Round 10 — Blackout $1 per card, 50% of pot payout. Round 21 — picture frame, limited number of balls called, $1 per card, jackpot 100% of 21st game’s take and builds each night until won. Full list of rules available to view at City Hall and at each Bingo night. Concessions available — $1 each soup, hot dogs, chips, candy bars, pop, water. All proceeds go to Hedrick BBQ Days and Fall Festival.
Open Forum at Pekin regarding 4-day school week, Friday, March 1
An Open Forum will be held in the Pekin High School gym on Friday, March 1 at 6 p.m. This forum will be held to discuss the possibility of going to a 4-day school week at Pekin.
Pekin After Prom Can Drive, Saturday, March 2
Pekin After Prom will be collecting cans, and plastic and glass bottles on Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. Please have glass separated and boxed if possible. Drop off locations are Hedrick Civic Center, Richland Town Square, and Packwood Town Sign. If you need cans picked up, please call 641-919-2041, 641-919-6068, 641-814-3634 or 641-814-3647.
Pekin After Prom Music Bingo, Saturday, March 2
Come play Music Bingo on Saturday, March 2 beginning at 8 p.m. at the Outfield in Richland. Cross off the songs on your Bingo card when you hear them! $20 for 5 cards, get a group of 6 people together for $100. Proceeds to Pekin After Prom. Pekin’s A Night of Theatre, Saturday, March 23
Pekin Performing Arts will be holding their annual A Night of Theatre fundraiser on Saturday, March 23 beginning at 7 p.m. in the High School Commons/Stage area. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the dessert bar while watching the Large-Group and Individual Speech performances. Admission is $10/adult, $5/ages 3-12, free/ages 2 and under.

Richland’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. in the Central Park on the square. This event is sponsored by Richland Community Club and Federation Bank.
Brighton Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, March 30
Brighton’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, March 30 at 11 a.m. in the park. This event is for toddlers thru 5th grade. Come dance with Big Bird and decorate a cookie with Cookie Monster! Free walking tacos for the kids.

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to join us at the Richland Library for snacks, stories, crafts and games on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m.

Toddlers and their caregivers are invited to join us at the library for songs, circle activities and play on Wednesdays from 3:15-3:40 p.m. Class size is limited, please register in advance at the library.
Teen-Time at the Richland Public Library, Thursdays
Students in 6th grade and up are invited to join us for snacks, games and time to hang out with friends on Thursdays from 4-5 p.m.
