On Thursday, June 9, several area home-schooled students will be competing in the Future Problem Solving International Competition. Although students worldwide will be participating, the local qualifiers will complete their competition in Iowa. Teams will be using their problem-solving skills to analyze a futuristic situation on the topic of Antibiotic Resistance.
Snyder is the son of Jamie and Michelle Snyder of Richland, Parsons is the daughter of John and Brandy Parsons of Wayland, Fritz is the daughter of Victor and Angela Fritz of Brighton, and Newton is the son of David and Jedda Newton of Iowa City.
In a separate competition, Elizabeth Snyder won the Iowa junior division short story writing competition earlier this year, and her story was submitted for international evaluation. Elizabeth’s story placed 8th worldwide. Snyder is the daughter of Jamie and Michelle Snyder of Richland.
