Around Pekin
A new club at Pekin Schools, Iowa Students for Tobacco Education and Prevention (ISTEP), spent last Friday's home football game painting faces.
Pekin's band director, Mr. Meinert, had the seventh and eighth grade band students outside last week practicing being in formation and marching.
Last week, Pekin's fourth graders had a competition to see who could build the tallest spaghetti tower that would support a marshmallow. Their record was 35 inches!
Mrs. Holthus's kindergarten class made predictions on whether coconuts would float or sink, and then tested them earlier this week.
