Awesome animals up close at the Richland Public Library

Dr. Michael Bechtel from Wartburg College visited the Richland Public Library on June 13 and brought along some amazing animals from all over the world! After sharing interesting facts about each animal, he taught volunteers from the audience how to hold each animal and invited them to walk around the room so that everyone had a chance to see and touch the animal up close and personal. His menagerie included a frog, several snakes, a Malay rooster, large cockroaches, a self-sustaining hydroponics jar with plants, snails, a rat, and other critters.
